Increasing The Bathroom Size By Relocating The Boiler
This bathroom had not been modernized for 30 – 40 years. The bathroom space included a cupboard which housed the boiler taking up valuable floor space. It was decided that the boiler could be moved to the attic above increasing the bathroom, which ultimately freed up floor space enabling a shower cubicle to be fitted in this area.
The original bathroom suite included a cast iron bath, which we removed along with the original sink, toilet, wall tiles and boiler cupboard.
After removing the cupboard we boarded the walls and ceiling, finally skimming the ceiling. The wall tiles are high gloss white ripple effect tiles often called bumpy white tiles. The floor tiles are Black star galaxy tiles which can be described as black quartz with silver speckles within the tile.
Electric shower
AS there is no gas at the house, it was not possible to run the shower from the central heating; the solution was to fit an electric shower.
